Fluid Sweep Progress!

I know, /another one/. Nice short vid for once. No commentary on this one, so here's my thoughts:
I think I've finally got it! When I was playing, it certainly felt smoother. Now, I'm not sure whether I'm nitpicking, not holding the pick right, playing slow initially, or whether I still haven't quite got it, but watching the video back, my hand still looks a little bumpy and not as smooth as I initially thought. My left hand made a fair few mistakes - Watching Ben's video on how Syn sweeps, I picked up on a slight change I needed to make to my pattern, right at the bottom of the sweep, so most mistakes are here where I try and correct that (Downstroke on 5th string instead of upstroke).
But I'm happy with my progress overall. Now, I'm gonna go work on some scales!
Looks like you're really coming along! One thing I would recommend adding in when you are practicing-
Lets say you are practicing a sequence of 10 notes, and you know from experience you are likely to flub note #5, and sometimes #6. Instead of practicing all 10 notes in a row over and over like you are doing in this video, play notes 1-5, then STOP on note 5. Make sure #5 is played with perfect articulation, 2 hand synchronization, and all the proper technique. Then, keep repeating playing notes 1-5 at least 10 times, and fight the urge to play more.
Then, try playing notes 1-6, and STOP on the 6th note. The key is to not play too many notes so your brain won't lose focus on what it needs to improve on, which it does if you just gloss over your mistakes and keep playing.

I cannot tell you how this one practice technique seriously improved my results much faster.

Good luck and Happy shredding :)

One of my worst things is trying to just gloss over my little mistakes, and of course then that starts to snowball and all. This will probably work with learning something brand new, since I get so impatient and rush ahead, so I'm definitely gonna work on this! Thank you! :)

Awesome! Great to see you doing well! It all sounded really good in this clip. I think some of those sweeps were still a little too much "picked" but some of them looked really fluid too, so good job!
Thank you! Yeah, I think I've got the downstrokes right, it's just those upstrokes that are getting me, I think. Still gonna keep at it!
