Lesson 52 - G Major Scale Jam!

First proper attempt at an improv solo jam thing! I took the advice of writing my own licks and adding sweeps in, but obviously I needed to take a step back to the basics of learning scales and what notes I can use to write my licks first! So, once I learned this scale, I decided to quickly try jamming it out! After several horrible videos, I finally wrapped my head around what notes sound good with each other. It's not perfect, there's still a few dodgy notes here and there, but given this was complete improv, I think it sounded pretty good! Tomorrow, I'm gonna focus on writing a simple lick to play over this track, then I'll move onto the next position! Very excited!!
Of course, it's been a big step for me but I really enjoyed the challenge! I'm really excited to write out the lick for this and give it a shot!
I personally created an A minor pentatonic based sweep exercise. One over three and one over five Strings that I can combine. If you want I make a Video for you! Anyway, excited to See yours! 🤘

I seriously can't wait to keep going with this and write out these little licks!

Thank you so much, honestly! It means so much to hear that!

See, I didn't really realise the kinda reach I actually had until just recently, and they may be long and slim, but they're pretty weak in places! Just means I gotta work harder :ROFLMAO:

I noticed before you even said anything that you were incorporating the double stops from the caged lessons! I was impressed! Not only that but you put in little slides as well! It made your solo extremely colorful and I enjoyed every little bit of it! I also really enjoyed how you kept going back to the G chord the groove out for a second before you started again. It made it very fun and poppy and I loved it! Do you know your notes in the key of G? I do have some constructive criticism I can offer but since you seem to be figuring out the kinks I want to give you some time before I come at you with them. I want you to enjoy this time of growth and expression because I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thank you so much!! I seriously learned so many little tricks from the Caged lessons, I'll have to go back to them to work on some little jams with them after I do these ones! Honestly, I couldn't tell you the notes themselves, that's one thing I do need to learn, but I can work on that when I write this lick out today! Hit me with that criticism whenever you feel is right, you know I'm more than happy to hear it and improve! :D
