some practice from oct 27th learned some new stuff and trying it out 68bpm in standard than last part drop d edited from like 30 minutes of footage took some...
I would urge you to use the metronome to represent a drumbeat in your head. It will make it easier to follow. For example, if you were doing it as standard 4/4 time, then each click would sound like a hi-hat hit, with the first also being a kick drum and the third a snare. Try imagining it that way (or find a drum machine app or youtube video of just the simple beat) until you get used to it. You very quickly get away from following the click, and actually following it is the important part. Some good stuff in there!

thanks, with that 4/4 anagram stuff, i'll try to fit that in my beat making. i'm not super good at the metronome, i keep it on for a general pace and starting point? lol looking back it's not to the click, it wasn't the point, but I should learn to be in time always, it is noticeable.... thanks again Mr. Ed!
I like to play to real snare drums, maybe i should just make that beat you said and use that as a click track excuse my excuses
btw that beat sounds like a MJ beat on paper

The idea is that if you're not using a click to keep time to, then a simple drumbeat - yes, kinda MJ or disco or something - very simple drumbeat that will serve the purpose, which is training you to keep time with EVERY BEAT.

If you're using a metronome as a starting point and not paying VERY close attention to it while you play, you're not using it effectively.

ok, probably shoulda turned it off for recording xD
next time with a gnome i will pay more attention, i got this selective hearing thing
it's called like oost indische doof

@Ed Seith I'm having trouble making that beat, for some reason it won't end on the eighth measure and repeat itself smoothly. Do you have a simply explanation like the last time? Do I need a Break? I'm not sure how to go about it. Do I add a signal on the fourth and break on the eighth? I talked to this guy about renting his place and his drums, I'm hoping to be able to figure it out in real time. I'm going to keep trying. Thanks in advance.

lol it's 12 bars, why does GB start with 8bars
time is 4/12?
i don;t know how to count properly
hahah a eureka moment for me XD thanks ed

Time is 4/4 - 4 quarter notes per measure. if you program a closed hi-hat hit on every measure (like the 4 beats of a metronome) and then add a kick at beat 1 and snare at beat 3, and then loop it, you should be set.

maybe i'm doing it wrong, it sounds cool. i'll show you later and watch the video later too. the beat you said is 12 bar blues, i just learned waht it was the other day. 12 becasue it won;t even out otherwise

No, 12 bar blues is a type of chord progression, not a drum beat. These are two different conversations. This one is just about finding a cure for not being able to follow a metronome. Here, I made a quick video for you. It's a rock beat, but if you do 12 bar blues stuff in it, it sounds kinda AC/DC.
