  • Y'know, since becoming a guitar teacher I've learned so much. I've loved every second of it and I think I understand why many musicians choose educating over performing
Why is writing melodies so difficult??? I can write an epic and grand orchestration but then the melody comes out and it cannot meet the rest of it
Struggle with seasonal affective disorder. So every winter I go inactive until I'm able to muster up the strength to do social activity. And I always have to make sure I start here since every winter it always means more students and coming back to old friends.

    In other words: Hi
My band’s doing a cover of Sally’s song and I was wondering if everyone would be cool with me uploading a video of my two solos
Moved into a new apartment. Feels great to have the ability to practice to my heart’s content. But also, having this much liberty makes me not want to practice 😂
First video on the progress journal is up on YouTube.
Im sorry if this seems like a plug, I don’t really know where to post this. I just thought it might be cool to do a progress journal to see how far I’ve come and how well I’m doing.

My current practice routine (Stretching hands between each section
    5 minute- Hand Warm Up
15 minute- Any Alternate Picking Etude
    15 minute- Any Tapping Etude
15 minute- any sweep picking etude
15 minute- Any Economy picking Etude
15 minute- any pentatonic shred etude
30 minute- scale shapes (Including harmonic minor, melodic minor, and diminished scale)
5 minutes (each)- every arpeggio shape
5 minutes (each)- different chords across the neck, essentially CAGED but using "jazz" chords for different voicings.

It's long but I think I'll be seeing some real progress soon. Should I post a video journal of my progress? I'd probably only do Alternate picking uploads though since it's what I struggle the most with since I hurt my wrist last November.
Song is currently being uploaded to youtube, so it'll take a bit. But it won't be on streaming services until maybe five business days so next friday at the latest. I'll post when the song is up, on streaming services and I'll post the youtube video here. It's not a guitar song, it's an electronic piece but I think you'll enjoy it ❤
