  • Any good ways to beat the intimidation factor or just feeling discouraged at playing sometimes? 🤔

Don’t take the small wins and improvements for granted

Forget about learning new, more complicated songs for a few minutes and play along with songs you used to play or simpler songs you already know.

Much appreciated Lindsey , just kinda feel overwhelmed or like I’m shooting myself in the foot. I know as I’ve gotten older I know it’s gotten harder to play what I want to and I’m ok with that just would like to be a bit more knowledgeable. And just overall be a better player
Any advice on how to play scales and chords on extend range guitars? 🤔

More strings I have a 7 & 8 string as well and I believe they are standard number of frets. Just wasn’t quite sure how to start the patterns on those extra strings. Been playing around with Phrygian mode a lot in the key of E if that helps explain more specifics.

Maybe try start it in reverse from where you know it so the pattern descends and could figure it out.
Not sure what the extra strings tunings are but I think the names of the notes have the same rules.

The 7 is in drop a and the 8 the standard 6 are in e and 7 is b and 8 is f#
Any pointers on finger strength or independence? And just trying to become more precise any hints are helpful 💯

oh ok cool much appreciated 💯, like just off any note in general or with something like scales so it’s more of a challenge ?

There's lot's of ways, scales is good yeah. I often do it chromatically or try and think up some way to mix it up till my hands get tired, sometimes just a few minutes.
The Syn Etude's on Legato could try those even if it's not full speed or near, gradually get better.
