In the "Making Of" documentary for the self-titled 2007 album, I believe they mention that they were inspired by hip-hop beats for the heartbeat 120 bpm on "Scream". Also, I have to imagine the autotune in "Lost" from that album had hip-hop inspirations.- Jaxon Muller
