Played Rock Band/Guitar Hero for 10+ years. I know it's not guitar play but I am constantly immersed in the play and the music which promoted me wanting to learn how to play a real guitar. I tried so many ways to pick up a real guitar but was never successful.
Been following many bands for a very long time but the first time when I heard Avenged Sevenfold, I was immediately drawn to the solo guitar play and I had to look the guy up. You may laugh at a video gamer but after you had to practice these insane expert guitar solos over and over, you know what you hear when someone is able to pull off some insane techniques. Then I became obsessed with Syn's guitar skills. I would listen to AX7 hours a day, not because of Shadows vocal but more for Syn's masterful chaotic guitar solos. The songs are phenomenal too. So much depth in so many masterpieces.
When I found out Syn has a school and there are lesson tracks for a total moron beginner like me, I just gotta give it a try. I hope after all these years, I will finally learn how to play a real guitar. Thanks for putting this school together Papa Gates and Brian!
