I’ve always struggled with the same issue. Something that’s really helped me over time is slowing down whatever scale you choose and slowly but consciously running through it, keeping in mind that the point is to keep your fingers from pulling too far away from the board as opposed to rolling through the scale as you usually would. Making sure to just go one finger at a time at whatever pace you need to go at. A bit of conscious attention + precise, slower run throughs can really make a big difference, it has for me!
