I'm setting up my pedal board and trying to save clutter on cables. I've watched some videos and it seems like the fx loop is only required for delay pedals. Is this true? Would I not have a problem putting all my pedals in front of my amp?
Your pedals can all go in front of your amp, including delays, just fine. I've been playing 35 years and I've never used the FX loop on an amp in my life.
there is no rule what pedals you can put in the fx loop but generally people put their time based effects in the fx loop. i.e reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and phaser...
