Same thing here @Ed Seith I tried C and B drops, and I feel comfortable with standard tuning, Eb, I also drop D (6th string). More than that, I think it's too much for me. Also, note that proportionally many songs are created for standard tuning. Maybe that's why over time our tendency after experimenting is to go back to the roots.
@Dominik I do have one guitar I don't really care much for (got it in a trade) that is a hardtail and it's in D/Drop C and will stay that way. Not big on BfmV, but KSE tunes there, too, and there are a couple of those songs I can play without finger extensions (Fuck your long fingers, Adam D, you bastard!)
Yeah, @Csgozzo91 - most of them are in E Standard now. The hardtails are "convertibles" to Drop D, of course. Same for Eb Std/Drop C#. But E Std is my homey.
Youre definetely not the only one in that! I always feel like the lower you tune your guitar the more it starts being a bass and we already have an instrument for that. Drop C# is also the lowest one I enjoy listening to.
