@Lindsey you mean properly grounded how? and for damaged cables I don't think there is
Never Heard of Prime? Is that the companies Name? Mine is a Boss Katana 100. Maybe you just need a noise gate

I can't say. I would make a Forum topic about it and give detailed information on your Amp model, since when you have that Problem and how it Sounds exactly (only with distorted Tone?) And make sure to Tag @Ed Seith in it, He Knows stuff!
