  • Hello guys, i hope you all doing good. Just a simple question. What's the different between tremolo bridge and Floyd rose tremolo bridge? And which is better?

Better would be subjective but imo I prefer floyd rose. The floyd will have a double locking setup with the nut being locked as well as the bridge so it is a pain to tune/setup but once its setup unless something is wrong with it will be in tune, but if you play heavy handed on the bridge it will set push you out of tune a little bit.

The standard tremolo bridge wont have a locking nut so you can change tunings a bit easier but you will have to balance back and forth when you do it still, also the bar only really goes one way which will limit your freedom of expression a little bit. Hope that helps.

A tremolo bridge can be anything that looks like a tremolo so for example a bigsby or two point tremolos that go on strats, those are all tremolos. Floyd rose tremolo typically is one with the locking nut that can go both up and down in pitch.

Tremolo bridge is basically a family name for all the different kind of tremolo systems out there.
