Mr Bungle in The Stage - B Side

100%, the album will be done when it's done 👌 And in terms of the B sides of the Stage, (I think this is one of them) it's got to be Malaguena Salerosa 😍 My fiance and I rewatched the Kill Bill movies a while ago and realised the original song was at the end of it, and it made me want to go...

What would you do different if you could start playing for the first time again?

    1. Learn Triads properly 2. Actually listen to my Guitar Tutor about how Theory was a useful tool. 3. Ironically - Don't be so hung up on playing like Syn straight away :ROFLMAO: 4. Be more open minded

Sounding great man 👌 Especially loved the Lydian & Phrygian Dominant parts 😍 I'm a sucker for both of those modes!

How would one go about getting an A7X style to my playing and writing?

This is a great topic 👌 if you're open to theory stuff, then a great way to get into the A7X sound is by studying the Harmonic Minor Scale. I've noticed that Avenged tend to use the Harmony of Harmonic Minor for their songwriting - especially at the end of solos, leading back onto a final...

    Frustrated Beginner

Hey! Thanks for sharing how you're feeling. What I'll say first of all is that you are absolutely cut out for the Guitar - frustration and hitting walls in your playing is something that happens at every stage, it's just a matter of taking a deep breath and pushing through 😊 (If it was easy...

    Moving on stage

Hey! so this is something that I used to struggle with in my previous band along with performance anxiety. I'm also a shy person by nature. I went from hardly moving live, to sort of overdoing it in my eyes and then dialing it back to what served the live performance better and also seemed...

    Guitar Guitar Notes

Hey man, so all of these are Scales, or more accurately, they are some of the Modes of the C Major Scale. By the looks of things you've looked at all the Natural Notes on each string of the Guitar and organised them in ascending order. The only Major scale that consists of all Natural Notes is...

Vocals Trouble with voice after singing

Hey man, so my advice is purely from my own experience, as I'm not a 'trained' vocalist - however I've got a fair bit of live gigging vocs experience. From what your describing (hoarseness when speaking etc) it sounds like you could be straining/pushing your voice when singing - this has...

What makes your playing uniquely you?

Great topic man! It's so weird for me to even start to define this, just because I'm really aware of my influences so I always really struggle to say my style is uniquely mine with a straight face 😂 I guess there are 3 main pillars of influence in my playing that make it what it is: 1.Rick...

Best guitar pick for Syn's style of playing

Ah fair play! I'd say it really depends on what you intend on playing, like you could use a thick pick for overall playing and then use a thinner pick when playing/recording acoustic guitar just to get a different tone etc. It's really a personal choice/comfortability thing

Best guitar pick for Syn's style of playing

100% what @Ed Seith said here. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to what they want feel-wise out of a pick. Emulating Syn will only give you what feels comfortable to Syn's hand physiology, which will differ from yours etc. In saying that though, I used Ultex Jazz IIIs (1 mm...

    Improvisation Tips

Hey Eoghan, There are so many entry points into soloing over changes. However one that helped me the most was really delving into understanding how Triads are layed out on the Neck and how they relate to one another. I'm planning on making a short video discussing Major & Minor Triads soon so...
