While spiralling down the rabbit hole of YouTube guitar videos I stumbled across this one about chunking. I thought it was a really good overview of the concept and figured others may find it useful too.
Honestly, you would probably be better off just having a sticky 'resources' thread with links to the numerous 3rd party sites that already offer these services for free.
Enter Sandman? Symphony Of Destruction? Some of the 'best' riffs they have listed are not even the best on their respective albums, let alone the best each band has on offer. It's almost as if they just picked a bunch of bands and wrote their most commercially popular song next to it.
Riffs. Thick, chunky riffs.
I will normally run a few exercises first to loosen up, then crank the gain and board the express to chug town.
Then I will try, sometimes successfully, to focus my attention on stuff I should be practicing.
Was playing around with my Drop pedal tonight and decided to take a crack at the KSE version of Holy Diver. Not perfect and I struggled to get the pinch harmonic right. Fun riff though.
Heard this song for the first time recently and decided to take a shot at the intro riff before work today.
The verse riff is going to be a test.........
