    Am off to bed for now but have begun Lesson 7 already, so am hoping I can get back to playing all six strings =). I've recorded a take of my contest entry, too, so will get that edited tomorrow as well. Thank you again for all the help! It's one of my favorite things about the SGS for sure!

    Don't know if this exactly counts, but I'll tell my story. Signed up at the beginning of the school (2018?) and grabbed my SOs 1/2 size acoustic. Got it restrung...and started learning. I only practice when my SO isn't home because I'm super shy about my playing. I was doing pretty good...

    Me, too =)! My SO thinks he might remember how to string it (this guitar was his when he was a kid and was handed down from another family member to him) but I know at least one person on the forum here has offered to walk me through it. Hoping it's easy so I can do it whenever I need to =)

    Strings and a string winder have been ordered! That wasn't nearly as expensive as I anticipated =). Now to see how fast they arrive.

    I want to save up for an electric and read in a previous thread that the beginner kits are good. I saw this one, it's marked 'blemished' but it'd be something I could save up for a little faster. Is it worth reserving one at this price or is there something I should save up for that's better...

    I think I asked this on the old school but I assume those posts are gone =). I have a 1/2 size acoustic that I'm starting with...what are good strings for this one? It's old but it still plays and I need to replace the high E string (as previously posted). What should I be looking for?

    Thank you all! Somehow, I missed the replies here...so sorry for the late response! It's fun seeing some familiar faces already in the forums! Getting my chops back and am happy it's coming back faster than I thought it would =). Here's to being able to play something soon, eh?
