Comment by 'Jackson Harsin' in media 'No Doubt: Tragic Kingdom - Guitar Cover'

I have never heard this song, but the guitar part is catchy as all hell and you kicked ass playing it!

    Syn Gates School Solo

Ok so I’ve been playing with an idea for a bit and I think it would be cool as shit if students in this school could band together and make a Jared Dines style mega solo. This would take a lot of time and commitment from a lot of people, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in...

My pinky is really out of shape

Check out Syn’s Etudes Sweep Picking One and Legato 1, they will be a real workout and your forearm may be sore, don’t push it and injure yourself! I thought I had pretty decent pinky strength and they whipped my ass into shape real fast!

    Afterlife Solo

Chris Zoupa has a really, really good video on it, I’d recommend checking him out, although the legato part isn’t 100% by any means.

    whats your favorite a7x album?

I’d have to say Nightmare, probably because it was the first album I ever heard by Avenged and it features the most emotional depth from songs like “Danger Line”, “Victim”, “Fiction”, “So Far Away” and my favorite song by them right after “Coming Home”, “Save Me”. “Save Me” is one of those songs...

I can Shred but i have no clue wtf iam doing.

I agree with all of the above, while music theory is interesting and gives a player a ton of shortcuts to the notes they may want to play at a given time, music can be an extremely instinctive thing and nobody has ever said that music theory is required. When you start to play enough different...

    Share Your Goals and Dreams!

@ Dan Shipway that comment honestly makes me crack a smile and be nostalgic as all hell, I remember when I first started playing and those were some of the songs that made me pick up a guitar and I’d always day dream of what it would be like to be in Syn’s shoes playing those songs, more...

Need help with basic pick use

The lesson on the site is pretty fantastic for basics of how to hold a pick, i.e. by letting it rest on the side of the pointer finger and secured by the thumb. If you are having trouble with accenting notes by accident the most I can tell you to do is practice slow with a metronome, but it’s...

    Gunslinger Solo Challenge

Gunslinger Solo Challenge I know I’m a little late to the party but I saw this posted this morning and have put a bit of time into this one, feedback is greatly appreciated!

    Buried alive solo tips

I remember I had the exact same problem when I was learning it a few years back; what you need to do is really slow down the metronome and practice a down stroke on the high E followed by economy picking the high E an to the B. Another way you could do it is use pull offs for the notes on the...

    Share Your Goals and Dreams!

My goals and dreams for guitar aren’t to make it big or become this famous guitarist or anything of the sort, if that were to happen great, but if it doesn’t I don’t mind. My dream is to make music that can touch the hearts and feelings of others and allow them to feel exactly what I put into a...
