    try breaking down the expected progress level. instead of thinking " i will master this solo in 1 week", try " i will master 1st 5 seconds of this solo in 7 days" , then next 5 sec and so on. Be patient chief. without patience and consistency, everything will seem difficult

    Nice one Dominik. Give practicing in fragments a try. So for example, there are some pickings which are within the string gap and there are some which crosses the string gap. just practice those small bits and then incorporate those in this routine. It helped me quite a bit

    My finger lifts off too, but it really depends on what you are comfortable with. It does not seem like you have to keep middle finger on the string to play that part unless you are going for the momentarily creepy sound.
