    “Nobody” breakdown

One of the great YouTubers (and Synner members) that does Syn solos, @Martin Ronning, has done the Nobody solo brilliantly and quickly. Here he is playing it slowly, or as Ben Eller calls it, "Stepdad speed," so some of us might have a chance to see how it's done, and learn from it. Thanks...

    Impedance and Wattage

Yes, you can use the cab in the same way. Typically the output ohms won't change, so using two speakers would give you 8 ohms impedance for each (16/2)). The pics of the cab spell that out, as well - if you use the "stereo" aspect of the cab config. they're 8 ohms each. The question would be if...

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

Great thoughts, Jamie! I've always been more album than single, and when a single drops well ahead of an album, I try not to listen to it too much, out of fear it will hit differently as part of the whole album later, so I'm more or less done listening to this song for now. I got a good 10...

How to Hold The Guitar Properly – Lesson 2

Without seeing you or the guitar, that's a hard thing to say, but adjusting the strap up or down will have more effect on your comfort than the size of the guitar itself.

    Extreme - Rise

Nuno is a fucking god. The first extreme album is one of the only albums I ever bought cold. I hadn't heard of them, and I hadn't heard anything. I was in Target, I think, and they had the CD on one of the endcaps of an aisle in the long anti-theft boxes. I'd been playing about 5 years by that...

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

These guys are always entertaining in their reaction videos. Here they look at Nobody.

Hello Folks! Wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome! Yeah, the lessons are still not 100%. We had a major issue with one of our 3rd party vendors middle of last year, and the web team is still trying to fix it all proper. Please bear with us. It's funny, I see that wall of Jacksons, and while I've looked at them from time to time (most...

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Nobody by Avenged Sevenfold guitar cover'

This is excellent, though I would caution you to be aware of when the bendy chord riff-note ENDS along with where it begins. The lead part on the chorus is wicked good!

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

Great analysis, Rowan, and while I have quickly grown to kinda love the song, I can't disagree with ANY of your criticisms. I suspect they knew this would be divisive. Syn even half-joked with me once that "you may not like it... I *hope* you like it..." before kinda trailing off. I have no...

    How to go about legato?

The part in question certainly features hammer-ons and pull-offs, but there's an awful lot of picking to really call it legato. It's a super tasty passage with a lot of string skipping in there - looks real difficult. For a really pure example of legato, check out Satch here, doing an in-store...

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

There's a ton of shit to pick apart in that video - it's fucking brilliant for people who want meaning and cool as shit for people who just dig skeletons and cool visuals.

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

It’s definitely defiant of any expectations, which can certainly be a roadblock for a lot of fans. I also didn’t really care for Dose, but this song grew on me very quickly. It is certainly going to be divisive, not only among fans of the band, but rock and metal fans in general.

    Suggestion Tab Book Correction

Definitely understand where you're coming from, and it's become common knowledge that while a lot of Syn tabs get the NOTES right, they totally flub the fingering, even in the "official" tabs. There was an effort Syn had going on with one of the advanced students to do this with a select...

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

I think the main part, the sliding down part, is distorted guitar with a lot of synth-type effect on it. If it isn't, you can bet it will be guitars when they do it live. I think Shadows voice is a stylistic choice. It feels like he sings the whole thing a little flat, but it's definitely...

"Nobody" from the new album "Life is but a Dream"

Interesting choice for a first single. They’re definitely going more for “this is who we are now” than “give us radio airplay,” which I like. They take a LOT of chances here, and like on The Stage, they pay off. Agree with how wild Syn’s solo is here. There’s not a lot that can raise my aging...
