    I guess the problem is that the harder I press on the strings, the less crunchy it sounds and sounds more "tinny". If that makes sense. But I'll dick around and see what happens.

    Thanks for the tips. This has been one of the most frustrating aspects of playing guitar. I'm getting barre chords down but palm muting has just been a stumbling block. Especially since most of the stuff I listen to and want to play is hard rock, metal, and a little bit of punk.

    I figured it out. I have to crank the guitar up, not the drive volume on the amp. With the guitar turned up and the drive volume set on 2, I live in an apartment after all, I can get all my guitars to sound good palm muted.

    You know what's weird? I can pull it off on my Syn Gates Standard but I can't get it to soundd as good on my Teles and LP. Go figure.

    That's so right. I love how this way of playing is starting to feel natural. Instead of only using my first 3 fingers and jumping around. My pinky is getting stronger everyday.

    Almost got it. This riff is from a song that saved my life and it's only fitting that it be played on Jimmy's Dragon Telecaster. Just gotta smooth out the picking and get Jimmy's groove down.
