    As someone who has studied music since 1994, I don't think I have all the scales memorized yet. I still go about it note by note. But yeah, if you no longer wish to use the circle, then memorizing them keys is the only way to go. You'll get there in time.

    Guitars are sounding alright, the only thing I'd change is to make sure the clean notes, in the beginning, are played in a tad more legato fashion. It should add a bit more fluency to the song.     It F# harmonic minor. The F can be viewed as E#. F# minor is F# G# A B C# D E and F#. If you sharpen the E, you get an E# which is the same pitch as an F note.

    Exactly. The Dorian mode is always formed on the second note of the major scale.

    It would be D Dorian. C Ionian is the major scale. So the order is C Ionian, D Dorian etc.

    Yeah, that is correct. They are the 7 modes of the C major scale. They're in order: Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolyidian, Aeolian and Locrian.
