Amazing words. You really are the perfect balance between being sympathetic and being blunt. I'm working my ass off. No more excuses. Thank you for lighting a fire under my ass.
Hey guys! I'm looking for any and all advice on whether you think learning songs is a genuinely efficient way to better learn techniques? Personal experience and examples is preferred. I feel like I've been getting better at certain techniques, but when I try to incorporate them in other areas...
Thanks man, it's good to be back! Thank you so much. I have to agree with you. It's a hard thing to work through, but I say it's worth going through. Thank you again! Looking forward to seeing more of your content again!
So, there were about 3 weeks where I did nothing. I looked at my guitar, and felt overwhelmed by the weight of my dream. Thus, I did absolutely nothing, all the while completely aware of the fact that by doing nothing, I was only delaying any progress. It was one of the best and worst things to...
Hey guys. So I haven't posted here in a while, and I'm going to tell you why. I lost motivation. And this wasn't the typical "Eh, I don't feel like playing right now". I was in a rut. My dream/goal is to be a professional musician. To be part of a successful band and write amazing music that...
Thanks man!! I feel much more confident with my left hand (my pinky used to look SO terrible, but I think it's much better now), but I feel like my right hand could be a bit more smooth. Perhaps an even smaller motion.
Also, I could be wrong, but I believe I'm playing triplets. If you listen...
This is the fastest I've ever played (with little to no tension). I started out about 2 hours ago at 60 bpm, focusing on every subtle motion, and playing as efficiently and clean as possible. I slowly moved it up to now (without stopping), at 140 bpm. I tried 150 and 160, but I'm not quite ready...
After learning the CAGED system, I would say knowing how to play seventh chords are essential as well. If you look up "how to play seventh chords" you'll find dozens of usually good videos explaining them.
So what I'm really trying to say is, it's more important to know how to play chord shapes...
Hey Jaxon! Personally, I don't necessarily think that any given chords are essential, as much as knowing chord SHAPES are.
There's a lesson on here called "the CAGED system", and it takes you through the campfire chords, but shows you how to play them all over the entire fretboard. Trust me...
I agree with @Calvin Phillips
Having a scale or mode would be cool to see, and maybe you could alternate - one week it's a lick and how to apply it, the next week is a scale or chord.
I'd love to see it either way!!
