    I agree with Dominik, I think that the difference is more in the feeling you have while playing it than in the tone. And with distorsion it should make absolutely no difference.

    I know that feeling haha. So you know what to do now: focus on learning a new song entirely till you can play it with the record as a backing track. It will help to pick up your guitar everyday, and you will feel much better about yourself.
