Learn how to play that cool guitar part in "Higher" that comes after the final chorus. Let me know if this was helpful and what other Avenged Sevenfold tutorials you would like to see.

Pentatonic VI - Synyster Gates School

I never posted day 3 of learning this...oh well...this is my 4th day and I completed it so that was the kinda learning process I normally go through. Some are a lot more difficult than others...this was a pretty easy one tho!

    Syn's Etudes Backing Track mp3s

Hello fellow Synners, I've had several students ask how I get the backing tracks downloaded so I can put them into my videos without having to record simply with my phones mic and avoid background noise. I use my marshall code 100 amp and plug my phone into the guitar input with an aux chord...

    Whats your favorite pick?

I was kinda flirting with the .77 and the 2.0 gator grip and decided on the gator grips as I was previously using full time. Another student said I should check out some 3.0 mm picks (insane!) And I'm definately gonna give them a try!

HAHA I really actually appreciate that man! I'm never closed minded about a possibility of improving my shredding! I dare I say I think I'll order a pack today...what's the worst thing that happens? I don't like them? Then I will know! I'll try to post a video of what I think of them when they...

Yes sir! Well worth the time and effort to memorize the tabs because it is such a great exercise for mastering economy picking as well as really challenging your hands to make generally larger stretches than your average scale normally has

Funny story...I have been fluctuating between the 2 gator grips and the picks on avenged sevenfolds store (not sure how thick they are but its gotta be between .5 and .7 mm haha. I like them both equally tbh

NEVER! I literally refuse to ever post a video without it! Honestly, I won't even practice without it...cuz I usually practice in front of a mirror because it legitimately helps me refine my technique perfectly which I take very seriously (the technique is everything!)

Comment by 'Ben Grosskreuz' in media 'Pentatonic VI - Day 1'

THANKS!!!! I posted day 2 too! So I'm able to play the tracks from my phone, through my amp and then into audacity. If you really wanted some downloaded tracks I'd be happy to email you some mp3s! Then you can load them into audacity (which is free!) and slow them down or speed them up or have...

Pretty good dude. This is purely constructive criticism but you aren't hitting all the notes (missing like every 3rd or 4th it sounds like) so definitely slow it down a bit and hit everyone and you will benefit much more in the long run! You are so close tho keep it up!

Comment by 'Ben Grosskreuz' in media 'Major scale exercise'

I have no clue how you are able to do that with a floating fist! I could never pull that off, so good for you because it works well for you. Try using less picking movement (your swing your hand in pretty big strokes which takes more time and therefore reduces overall speed potential) Good stuff...

Comment by 'Ben Grosskreuz' in media '90 Day Sweep Picking Challenge - HQ (unabridged) | Guitar Acceleration #2'

Hey, this is really cool and it's definitely useful to track your progress this way. If I were you I would use Syn's sweep picking exercises as they cover more of the fundamental sweeps as the ones you are using seem to be quite a bit trickier with the notes that are in them. The only reason I...
  20. Pentatonic VI day 2.

    Pentatonic VI day 2.

Yesterday I posted my first day of working on pentatonic VI. This is day 2. I'd estimate I spent 45 -50 minutes yesterday and about 40 minutes today before shooting this video. A lot of times I will let myself learn it up to speed a little sloppy and once my hands are use to the speed THEN I...
