How do I play faster leads

Get the clarity of the solos/leads first. Start practising slow. Start from where you can confidently play something which is crustal clear. Then start building speed. Usually a 5 bpm step up process is helpful.

    Help with Audio Interface

I need to buy an Audio Interface for recording my electric guitar on PC. Maybe it was a cardinal sin to record my guitar directly on PC. But I somehow was avoiding it for a long time. Not any more. My budget is really low guys, around 100 dollars. I will use it for acoustic and electric guitars...

    Advice for discouragement

Sorry to hear this. This may be just a phase. Stop playing for sometime. That might help.

    Jak's challenge

Ooooh, Niice. Gilmour style. I think it’s based on Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Perfect song if you decide to get high and turn off the lights in your room.

More Advice Needed. Trying To Be A Jack Of All Trades.

Definitely you can. Depends on how much time you can give on each one. This is something I always wanted to do. But little differently. I wanted to learn guitar, drums, piano and dancing (Angel Vivaldi anyone?) at the same time. But guitar took hell lots of time. If you can manage time and be...

Always makes me laugh when people take shots at line 6

I also don’t know who are these guys making fun of Line 6 amps. My friend has a Spider V. I found it terrific. Of course, way way better than my outdated Vox Pathfinder 10. We did some demo recordings with that. I will second Calvin. IT IS actually that good to be used for studio and digital...

Is playing on multiple style guitars counterproductive?

I also think that getting used to lots of guitars will ultimately help. Who knows? Maybe someday Jak will develop 2 different styles of playing for 2 different guitars. (as Mark Knophler does with a Fender and a Les Paul)

    Help on Equalizing

I have read at some websites that 1. particularly 200 Hz is the muddiest thing for a distorted electric guitar 2. it’s better to use medium gain and less distortion to get rid of that hiss sound? True or Myth

    Help on Equalizing

Thanks guys for all these advice. I got the basic idea and actually applied it here. To me it sounds OK. But let me know if there is anything sounding a bit of sound wise. Putting Extra Guitar track to song

    Guess That Riff

D K, first of all, you have damn long fingers. About the riff, is it something by Funeral of a Friend?

    Help on Equalizing

Recently I recorded a chord progression on my pc. Now I was just messing around with the equaliser and wanted to remove some metallic hiss kind of sound from it and make it heavier and punchier. That’s when the question came to my mind. What is the best practice with the equaliser while working...

Need help with basic pick use

Thickness does matter. It effects what tone will come out, how much power you are hitting the strings with, you are more into fast picking or not etc. The differences are very prominent for electric guitars. For acoustic, it is less. The only thing you would like to consider is, which thickness...

    Buried alive solo tips

I mentioned his name many times (cuz I am a fan of his tutorials, so pardon me). HAve you seen the videos by Chris Zoupa? That might help you to know the exact technique being used to play certain parts. Rest is just practice and practice and practice.

    Share Your Goals and Dreams!

My ultimate goal is to be a guitarist in a rock/metal band and tour all around the world. Maybe someday, a point will come where someone will listen to my song and instantly recognise “Oh, I know who’s playing this!!!”. That sometimes seem distant though but I keep trying.
