Considering it it has a locking nut, it is most likely to related to the pivot points on Floyd. Check to see if the blade edges on the plate are sharp and not damaged. Top mount vs recessed Floyd Rose.
Top mount for me. I rarely pull up. I have 2 guitars that float, and 4 that only dive. The floaters are more sensitive to resting your hand on the trem.- Aceluek
