A quick question about drop B tuning

Thicker strings brought up to standard are *very* high tension. You’ll find things like bends harder. As far as a nut goes, it might be a bit loose depending on how much of an increase in size it is. An alternate route is using a pedal that alters your tuning, I’ve used Digitech’s Drop for a...

Tapping: pushing downwards or pulling upwards?

I learned to flick downwards with my right hand when tapping to essentially be plucking the string again.

which schecter guitar should I get

Buy for the sound and feel. I believe feel is most important, as you have some form of aftermarket control over sound with pickup swaps, etc. Play a few, see which feels best, and go from there. I have a Diamond series Avenger and I love it because of the neck specifically.

    Easiest A7X song to learn?

Compared to the rest of the album, God Damn is fairly “easy”. So Far Away, Gunslinger, and Shepard of Fire have some easier riffs, too. Easy is subjective though, since everyone’s at different levels. But these are some of the riffs that I found to be easier to learn compared to other songs.

    Sustainiacs

I have one in my Schecter, it’s a great tool for soloing but in my personal opinion, the tone isn’t the greatest when you’re using it as a regular pickup. It’s not very warm like a regular neck pickup, it’s very bright and not all that far off from the bridge pup, since it’s essentially an...

    Drop Pedals: Yes or No?

I’ve used a Drop for a little over a year now, mainly because my primary guitar has a Floyd. I’ve never had issues with it, pinch harmonics work fine and I never need to generate feedback so I’ve never had any issues with it.

I will also be at the Grand Rapids show this Sunday!

    Most difficult guitar to tune??

It may take longer to tune, but it stays in tune for a millennia. At least mine does.

    Your favorite song?

Man, that’s a hard one. Right now, I can’t think of a *favorite* song, but if I had to pick 5 right now: 1. Second Heartbeat – A7X (Relevant) 2. Your Mind is a Helpless Dreamer – VOLA (Semi-underground experimental metal band from Denmark) 3. Uncharted – Make Them Suffer 4. You’re Here – G3...

    PRS or Schecter

I play a Schecter mainly and played a few PRS models on and off. I like both brands because they have such a variety of models to cover all styles. You can play a Schecter in church and a PRS to play post hardcore. Go to a store, play a few models, see which one feels and sounds how you want it...
