Nice job! This solo is what made me want to play guitar. This whole album is a masterpiece.

    Makeshift instruments and recording

I think creativity is most certainly involved when engineering or even producing a track. Usually, the job of most engineers and producers will be working to achieve the writers vision for the song and many times, using the same tools to achieve very different sounds. I’m fascinated by that side...

Alternate Picking Exercise Featuring Erra Riff

Practicing House of Glass riff by Erra. I’m tuned a whole step higher than the original song and I’m only playing it at 75% speed. This riff is helping me improve my alternate picking across multiple strings with accuracy. The tab can be found here...

Whats your most fun A7X song to play?

Definitely Blinded in Chains. I love the psychedelic punk rock vibes.

Just keep noodling around until you hear something that makes you go “I gotta hear that again”. You’re doing a good job playing in key, now it’s about finding those catchy melodies.

I dig this a lot. The production of the vocals isn’t doing it for me personally and I’d probably do a fair bit of tweaking on the sound of that. But I think there’s some absolutely wonderful arrangement ideas going on here and the melodies are cool. Bravo!
  14. Original Riff in the style of A7X

Original Riff in the style of A7X

A riff intended to sound like A7X (to the best of my ability and the inevitable influences of other music that I like). Used Syn’s Axe Fx cab pack (the stage ir to be specific) paired with the 6505 axe fx amp with custom settings. Used a syn custom guitar with syn signature pickups tuned to drop...

    Hi! I’m Ian!

South Park is based on a real city which is not actually called South Park. I’m legally blind with 5 degrees of peripheral vision so it’s sometimes easy to get lost on the fretboard even with dots, but it’s mostly muscle memory for me.

    Hi! I’m Ian!

Hello everyone! I’m Ian. I’ve been a member of the school for a while now but I just discovered this wonderful forum. I’m a long time fan of Avenged Sevenfold. I discovered them in 03 and fell in love at warped tour 2004, where I picked up STST and WtF, which have been on repeat ever since. My...
