    I have the same habit and I can't seem to shake it. It just feels so natural that when I try and deliberately ball my fist, it feels clumsy and I don't want to take the time to cold turkey force it.

    Had a moment last night while practicing combining scales in the same position (The CAGED System, Part 2) when it hit me just how far my alternate picking has come, to the point where it feels natural and unforced. Always great realizing you've made gains.

    Thanks. I bought a Scarlett 2i2 to run the output to my computer and Reaper to handle the recording and editing. I’ve found both, as somebody with no prior experience doing this stuff, to be extremely intuitive and enjoyable for a straightforward setup.
