Let's get to know each other!

Hi all. I’m 28 and started noodling around on guitar at 16. Can’t pretend I had the attention span or the drive to take it seriously. Never had anyone to play with, as by the time I picked it up all my friends were shred heads and going through their black metal elitist phases. Not having anyone...

Most Badass Song you have listened to and why?

I walked in to my local Music Shoppe to ask about a baritone guitar and the tech (a guy I’ve known for almost 20 years) looks at me like I have aliens coming out of my ears and says any guitar can be a baritone (for the purpose of drop tuning anyway. Debates about wood resonance nonwithstanding)...

    Knowing What to Practice?

Plenty of great suggestions here so I’ll chime in on the mental aspect: don’t get to the point where you are so obsessed with getting better that you don’t enjoy playing anymore. This happened to me and I barely played for years. When I let myself off the hook and just jammed what I liked...

    favorite songs and bands

Favorite bands have always included A7X and Trivium. Lately I’ve been really in to Opeth. Loving the dynamics and their shift in sound from Heritage on. Made me appreciate progressive rock and got me listening to band like Yes, Genesis and Supertramp. Not limited to their new sound though...
