Today marks the day when SGS was launched. Can you believe it’s already been a year? It feels like yesterday. How much have you improved in this period of time on this school?
Time flies! It’s an awesome, welcoming community.
For me, once I found I was holding my pick wrong and rectified it, my economy picking and sweeping came on leaps and bounds. It’s still not perfect but it’s slowly getting there.
Big thanks to syn, PG, and everyone else here.
Awesome! I signed up on the second or third day after launch I believe. The Gates really have created a unique and awesome place here. I improved heavily in the last year because the school really motivated me to. I scratched the surface of theory, although I can barely use any of it in a practical way yet. But my speed, especially my downpicking, my posture, my way of holding the pick it all improved. Also the first time after three years of playing I am able to play a full song and pick up rhythm stuff easier.
So thank you Syn and Papa Gates and to an awesome second year of the SGS
Yeaterday when I played the syn cudtom i was playing so much better than I ever thought I would, the amount of exercises and all the lessons in general have helped with my playing more than I can believe.
The school has also helped massivelywith my confidence, I used to walk into somewhere like a music store or do a performance and I would freeze up but I can relax so much more and feel like what I play actually sounds good. This school is amazing.
I just watched back some recordings I did in January of songs I wrote a couple years back and damn I was sloppy as hell back then(maybe I still am but I like to believe I’m not that sloppy anymore) also inflections and Vibrato have improved a lot! I do really love this school!
I can’t believe it’s already been a year but I have improved tremendously. When I signed up I didn’t know a thing about lead guitar and the only thing I knew well was the pentatonic scale. Now I know how to economy pick, alternate pick, and I’ve learned a lot about arpeggios. I’m even starting to kinda of dip my toes into sweeping too. I’ve learned more things here at this school in a year than I ever would by myself. Thanks to Pap gates, Syn, and everyone who helps me when I have questions. You guys are awesome
