2 string tapping?

I am currently working on the The Stage intro and at one part it was said that you have to first have a tap on the g string and then a hammer on out of nowhere on the b string. But no matter how hard I try, it sounds really awkward and it makes either just noise or I get no tone at all out of the g string. Any advise for me? Is it a matter of my Setup, is there a trick to it or do I just have to practice?

Of Course I meant “no tone out of the b string”, sorry

You have to lift up slightly on the G string and hammer on really strong on the B string. It’s tricky tho it took me a while

Ooh yeah that part is a bitch. Toom me a while too and still cant consistently do it.
