Alternate Picking II

Hi everyone! can someone tell me which fingers i have to use in last section of alternate picking II exercise? it kinda looks like Syn plays it without ring finger, so – does it matter if i play with all fingers or like Syn (?) without ring finger?

I would probably play it with my ring finger. But I pretty much do everything the way I feel the most comfortable so you can try to find a way that feels comfortable for you!

from 12 to 17 is quite a little stretch so i guess I would not use my ring finger either and play first 12 and then 13 with my index finger as this might be slightly more comfortable than using all four fingers, but like Ids said, it is really a matter of what feels right for you.

I took a quick look at the lesson and I believe he plays 12 13 15 with index, middle and pinky and then slides to 17 with his pinky (but also picks 17). But like others said, you don’t have to play it exactly the same as Syn, just do what feels right to you.

I was just looking at this one last night. If you look, he changes positions to hit that 17 as it starts the descending pattern. It doesn’t matter as much if you use ring or pinky, but for proper technique and being able to maintain that consistency on the pattern down in the lower parts of the fretboard, the pinky is the better choice.
