I’m getting really frustrated with the pain in my right arm while playing. I’m doing my best to relax it and use my wrist and not my whole arm but it still hurts just after 30 minutes of playing. This is when I’m sitting by the way.
1) STOP practicing, you will just mess up the ligaments in your arm.
2) Stretch out before playing. Do athletes just go play w/o warming up. No of course not
3) Read this. Helped me a lot https://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/the-players-room/keep-it-loose-stretches-for-guitarists
I said that wrong. Sometimes my arm gets SORE when playing. It’s not actual pain. I’ll stretch more before I do but I just noticed that it gets uncomfortable at times. It’s usually right where my arm bends
The only time my right hand started hurting was from playing a mix of metallica riffs that were going at insane speeds and they were mostly downstrokes. Maybe you like playing downstrokes and chugging and that’s the reason your arm is hurting. Also if it starts to hurt just try to massage your arm just above the elbow, that usually helps me.
