I just got an email update on a new theory topic on intervals and I saw one thing that I’m pretty sure is wrongly described ther. An augmented 4th is not a thing. As far as intervals go on their own augmented only refers to the 5th. So augmented is only a sharp 5 and. Emaj7aug would mean an Emaj7aug with a sharp 5. Just to make sure that part is correct.

I know I should have posted it in the topic but the topic was gone. I just got an email saying it was there but then it wasn’t. So yeah Ed I know I should have replied to the topic but I couldn’t so I made a new one.
The theory book I have says specifically that augmented only applies to the 5th.

Just to be clear here a melodic interval is two notes played separate to each other and an harmonic interval are both notes played at the same time. As far as what they mean compared to each other doesn’t matter. An augmented chord would mean the same as and augmented interval I.E. an augmented interval would be a sharp fifth and an augmented chord would be an harmonic interval with a sharp fifth.
Andrei-I really wanted to reply this to your forum topic but I couldn’t I got a 404 error page could not be found thing so I figured I would make a topic in it because that’s the only part which I believe is wrong in the whole thing you posted.
Ed-my point was that I could see in my e-mail that the forum topic was made but I could not find it on the forum itself because of some error. Since this is the part which I believe what was incorrect about the forum topic I figured I’d make a new forum topic on it so that’s the reason I did not reply to the forum topic itself. It does not exist anymore unfortunately. Otherwise, I would have replied to the forum topic itself of course.
