Beginners teaching beginners

Have you seen Syn’s latest interview? The thing he said about beginners really struck me, because I’ve never seen it this way. Reminds me of what an awesome place he and papa gates have created.

I’ve gotten some life changing advice from a beginner who’s like, seriously kind of just picking up the guitar, lol! I’ve been playing for 20 years and her advice changed my playing around completely!! So this could even be called “Beginners teaching not-so-beginners” haha!

It’s true what Syn said about beginners knowing how to teach because we all forget how we looked at things or how we used to think about them before we figured them out. When you figure something out you start thinking differently about that thing and you stop thinking the way you did before you figured it out.
And then after some time that thing will just make sense to you and you won’t remember why you didn’t understand it before and if someone who didn’t understand that thing asked you how to figure it out you won’t really be able to help them because you won’t remember.
But that’s why the beginners or people who just figured that thing out will be able to help that person because they still remember the reason why they didn’t understand it at first.

I saw this interview. He was really spot on how and why this community is able to work this way. Great vision though, to start a project like this, also for free.
