I spend aot of time thinking about his but I'm wondering who's your top 5(or 4) guitar players if all time?

For me it's a hard one but I have 4 players I will always mention instantly. The players I mention instantly are @Syn Gates , George Harrison, John Mayer and Django Reinhardt. Who are yours?

    Oh man. This is tough haha let’s see..
    Well @Syn Gates for sure, Nick Drake, Keith Richards, Dimebag, aaaaand let’s end it with Johnny Christ (HAHA JUST KIDDING, JC has to learn to play bass first before he can graduate to guitar), just kidding just kidding, we all hail Johnny Christ. It’s probably between Django Reinhardt and Bo Madsen from Mew.

    I don't really have an answer to the question, because probably most of the "best guitar players" are people I either don't like to listen to or have never heard of. I also don't think there's really a way to measure all the different kinds of greatness- technical proficiency is imo less impressive than historical importance and influence.

    Blind Lemon Jefferson vs Jason Richardson, who ranks higher?

    How can I compare modern studio musicians vs Joe Messina, Robert White, and Eddie Willis?

    I dunno. So, here's five guitarists I like and respect. Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, more Yngwie, and Gary Moore. Sorry Syn, you're too young to make the list. I bet there are several country guitarists in Nashville who can blow half those guys out of the water, but I don't know them. There are probably numerous technical death metal guitarists who can play even faster, but I don't know them.

    Honorable mention goes to to BB King, Jimi Hendrix, and Eddie Van Halen. I almost never listen to any of their music, but their historical importance and influence is immeasurable.

    1.Syn (for obvious reasons)
    2.Tosin Abasi (check out animals as leaders - Woven Web and wait for 1:30 mark and be amazed. Your brain will explode.)
    3. John 5 (it's hard to make an instrumental song that is interesting. It's even hard to make a long instrumental song interesting. Well John 5 is a master of that. Check out "Black Widow of la Porte"
    4. Ian D'Sa (His playing is really different from other players and you can really hear it. He also likes playing super wide chords.)
    5. Plini (One of the best instrumental guitar player. Check out the "Handmade Cities" album and enjoy. It's a gem.

    @Syn Gates
    John 5 (don't listen to much of him, but love what I hear!)
    Jim Root
    Billie Joe Armstrong ( he's nothing technical but he runs around stage playing fast rhythms, singing and playing behind his back while singing simultaneously!)
    Mark tremonti (Yet again dont know loads of Alter bridge or tremonti but he is a beast!)
    And since I've been listening to Ozzy Osbourne, I'm loving Zakk Wylde
