I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and I hope the start to your next year will be wonderful. Today is the exact middle of the two holidays so it's the lull where not much happens. 10 years ago today we lost an inspirational person. Jimmy was loved by us the fans and his family and that still rings true to this day... Just go on Instagram and you'll see a million reposts of his face. While he's gone physically he's still a huge inspiration to so many. My other passion that's been around a lot longer in my life than guitar has been drawing so I felt this was my duty to complete and shit it was so fun to do. Here's to Jimmy The Rev Sullivan.

I almost like refuse to listen To fiction tbh

It's a great song but sometimes I just can't handle it

That's how I've felt about that entire album for the longest time honestly. It was my least favorite for that reason. A change in attitude was seeing it as something to be celebrated not avoided so I sat down to listen to it. Now Nightmare is my favorite album.

    I first heard of A7X way back in 2005 thanks to Need For Speed Most Wanted, but really got into them in college like 6-7 years later. What I always loved about The Rev since then though is the fact that basically all my favorite A7X songs are his. I guess it's why I love the self-titled album as much.

    Fiction is something else though like...you know it's a different song and it's meant to tell you something. And you know that from the get-go.

    Who knows, maybe he was watching as I was trying to figure out how to best transcribe So Far Away on the piano these days. I rarely get this inspired and I was so psyched that I managed to post it today, of all days.

    Hard to believe it's been 10 years...

    Even though I didn't know Avenged at that time;
    Being a part of this awesome family, living my last 7 years with A7X in my heart; I'm proud and thankful for the gift he shares with the world and will foREVer be a part of me.

    My first show was in London 2013, and they played Fiction live. This is the moment I got my heart captured by this guys and I couldn't stop crying and singing the whole song.

    Thank you

    Bat country was the first song i ever heard from A7X and i was blown away. I loved it. The drums always stood out to me, even as a guitar player. And then one day, my brother bought the self titled album, and played it almost everyday. The rev’s drumming was, and still is, my favorite part of the self titled album. His drumming on city of evil, absolutely marvelous. I miss the rev. I wish i couldve seen him play live before his time came. Dude is a legend.

    @Jesse Salmons I think, admittedly, that Almost Easy might've been the first song I've heard from A7X on Guitar Hero 3. Afterlife was what really captured me though. I played it over and over again on repeat. My brother was learning guitar and one of the only songs he could play was bits and pieces of Beast and the Harlot. Him playing that got me into City of Evil. Great album. Even though he liked Beast, Bat Country is what blew me away. It still blows me away to this day. I played it for my little brother this morning and he said "woah, that's a cool song". Come to find out how much of a driving force Jimmy was and it makes me appreciate it that much more.
