    Hey everybody.
As some of you knew, my brother @Alexander Graeber joined the school some days ago (if you haven't, go to the Introduce Yourself category and greet him in the thread I opened up for him )
However, he really wants to start learning songs but he is literally at the total beginning of playing guitar. He likes a lot of metal by now and so I was wondering, what are the easiest metal riffs or songs that you would recommend him if he wants to get into learning one?

As far as riffs is concerned he can try any song off of Hail To The King and maybe do Zacky's parts at first. The black album has some cool riffs too(I think Kirk's solos are a bit easier to play compared to Syn's too).

Man On The silver Mountain, Kill The King, the Shed by rainbow.

Smoke On the water, Black Night, Woman from Tokyo, Maybe I'm a Leo by Deep purple

Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, over the Hill and far Away, immigrant Song by led Zeppelin

Tie your Mother Down, Fat Bottomed Girls and there's a fast version of we will rock you by Queen

You can't really go that wrong with classics like Rainbow, deep purple, Queen and Led Zeppelin. Most of those songs have riffs that sound easy but have a small little detail that you have to get right to nail it but you can make it sound ok fairly easily.

Number of the Beast and powerslave are probably also some good ones. Powerslave has the gallop in it but not incredibly fast so that's great metal riff practice!

Also check out some Beatles songs like Helter Skelter, revolution, come together and get back.

Out to get me, live and Let die, me. Brownstone, rocket queen by Guns n Roses.

    Walk by Pantera

Yeah, we are not even close talking about solos. He will probably need to invest some time to even get used to powerchords at this point. But you're right, HTTK or the black album might have some good riffs for beginners.

Try to look into some punk like the Ramones or sex pistols. Blitzkrieg Bob might be a good one. It's pretty much all powerchords but fast and can be pretty heavy.

You can go to Songsterr and sort songs on difficulty. That's how I often find songs.

Better songs than I can mention are already mentioned here.
Good Idea! I mainly look for bands he's actively listening to because they will certainly be the most fun for him to learn.

Them.bones is all down stroke chugging not sure if it fully suggest that one.

I'd get him to learn punk before jumping into metal riffs. Focus the power chords before jumping into complex metal riffs that may not all too complex until you realize you dont have any rhythm to your playing.

That's why I asked for easy metal riffs
It's all about having fun and staying motivated for now

    Pantera - Walk
    Metallica - Enter Sandman
    Slayer - Raining Blood
    Black Sabbath - Iron Man
Emperor - I Am the Black Wizards (without tremolo picking)
Trivium - Dying In Your Arms
Thanks for the suggestions! Most of them are pretty easy overall but may still be too hard for someone who has just picked up a guitar.
