Wretched and divine is a pretty matured record IMHO. Definetely compared to the other stuff they did (it’s also my favourite record by them). The singer isn’t really my style nescecarily (I dig stuff like Ronnie James Dio the most for singing) but even though he’s quite limited he does pretty good with those limitations.

Well Andrew, I just don’t really like that stuff. It feels watered down and too polished imo. I’m into more heavier and progressive side of things, so you can’t expect me to enjoy that stuff, I guess this is the most polite way to put it haha.
But I respect guitarists even if I dislike the music, that’s for sure.

I dig the Wretched and divine album.
The voice of a singer is such an important thing for a band. When I was younger a band could play music I really like but if I didn’t liked the singer I wouldn’t even gave them a chance.
For example some friends of mine were into Billy Talent but I just didn’t like the singers voice. I was really picky back then.
Actually I didn’t liked M Shadows voice when I first heard A7x (hate me if you have to ). I got into Ax7 because of the music in a whole and not like I used to because of the color of the singers voice. The voice range don’t have to be wide (even though it’s nice if it is) but it has to fit and transport feelings.
Nowadays I am much more open towards different kinds of music or voices or styles and I can dig music in different ways and I am glad because that’s why I’m here

I could never get into bullet. They tried the mainstream thing with Avenged and went a different route with it. I could never get into them. Even when I saw them live, it was an alright show.. and I knew all the songs. But I just couldn’t really get into it.

Jen, I didn’t like matts clean vocals at first on city of evil. Always sounded like he was trying to sound like axl rose was my opinion. I knew he had more power to his voice. You really hear his voice shine on the self entitled album and it just keeps getting better. Now I find hes sacrificing power for range, which makes sense. But I just love how powerful his voice can be.
