Good Acoustic Strings/Acoustic Guitars?

Hey tomcats…
I think it was Ids who told me what type of strings Syn uses. They sound so good but I can’t remember what they were. Aside from those, anyone have any they recommend? I’ve been using Martin’s but they seem to go dead fast.
And acoustic guitars. They all sound like plastic, fake, and dead. I am looking for something rich, bright. And i’m favoring the tobacco burst color lately. I still want one of Syn’s signature acoustics but the one I want has been sold out forever. I know I could get it elsewhere but they’re more expensive. I need an electric/acoustic with a high access point and less than $700. Any ideas?

Martin has some nice player-grade models with a single cutaway and electronics. I like the 80/20 bronze strings on acoustic – deep and rich. I have a DCPA5, which they don’t make anymore, but there are similar, for sure. Mine was $800, but there are lower end models with the same features, too. Seagulls and Breedloves are awesome, too.

Hey Jak, string wise for acoustic if you want something that may last longer, I can suggest Elixir. Available in both Bronze 80/20 and phosphore bronze. Other than that there are also the d’addarion acoustic strings which are fine too.
Ive also heard from some collegues in the acoustic departement from the music store I work at that the yamaha acoustic are also pretty good so maybe you could take a look there! Also, I dont see any of the Syn acoustic being discontinued. Where did you get your info?

I know the ones he uses for gypsy jazz. Yhsoe are savarez Argentine 10s. Not sure whether he uses those ok his regular acoustic as well.
As for guitar I don’t know. I never really had a decent steel string acoustic besides my gitane.
