So I need some help, I have a g1x four zoom multi effects processor and I’m try info to get a good avenged sevenfold tone. Can someone tell me what pedals I need to use? Thanks

After 20 years of work, they've surely changed their tones depending on the album a little bit

A compressor is/was a part of their sound on the earlier albums and I think they used pure amp distortion from what I remember reading from a thread on there. Effects were minimal but I think it may vary depending on the songs.

Willaim's right about the compressor, on leads. And also that it's all amp distortion. But with the zoom, just start with high gain and roughly neutral EQ, and then tweak the knobs until it sounds close.

Ideally, you should be dialing in a sound that inspires you to play better. Syn's gear only sounds like Syn's tone when Syn is playing through it. Even Papa Gates doesn't sound anything like Syn playing Syn's guitar through Syn's rig.
