how to be a great guitarist

There's actually far more to being a great guitarist than just practicing. You can practice all day long but if your heart and mind isn't in it you're not going to get anywhere. You have to be open to constructive criticism and really listen to yourself play all the time and pay attention to the little nuances. For example, like I said you can practice all day but if you are not practicing right you are never going to improve. Find things that bring the joy to you with guitar and go after them with all your heart and don't settle for less than your best! I have been seeing you post a lot on here and I am super proud of you! I can see you have what it takes to be an awesome guitarist! Start by posting up lots of riffs on the riff page and you'll get great feedback to improve yourself

something i would like to add in there is that you have to be open minded to all kind of musics, and been able to take the good things from other genres and add them to your style, also learning theory will help you to get there, and most important being a great guitar player is really hard and takes a huge amount of time, don't rush through things just take your time to develope a perfect technique and have fun while playing don't be afraid of trying new things. and the greater player is not who can play faster than anyone else or have more techniques than others, it is who can make you feel things with every note they play, you should try to aim to that.

    Don't just practice, practice efficiently.
It may be though to even find out what that is but it's worth a lot.

Get into theory, use a metronome, improvise over backing tracks and play songs you like.

There are many great youtubers I'd recommend, it's mostly their older videos. (There are many more, pick your own favourite)
    Sean Daniel, for beginners.

Adam Neely and Rick Beato for the more advanced theory. Rick Beato also has great beginner videos but that may be overwhelming if you never looked into it before.
