I Fixed Anubis!!

I just wanted to say that I got him fixed and I did it all on my own! Not only did I fix my ESP guitar I also fixed Anubis as well. You guys saved me $95 and like 10 hours worth of taking these 2 guitars in to someone else. Thank you guys so much! I will admit Bonnie, my ESP is having some tuning issues but I don't know if it's because the strings are still new and I haven't stretched them that much. She has locking tuners. How hard you pull when you stretch new strings? I'm so intimidated to do it!

Anyway, thank you guys so much for chiming in on my last post! I know I may have seemed emotional but it was only because I felt like I wasted a whole bunch of money and it was so much time put into it and I was nervous that something else again was going to push our studio date back. You all are fucken heroes and I can't express how much I love every single one of you!

Well done Jak! It's not as scary as it first seems.

As far as stretching the strings go, don't stress over it to much, if they can take a 2 step bend they can take a little stretching. Personally I usually pop a finger under the string around the mid point and lift it away from the neck (about 1.5cm) a couple of times, retune and repeat. With the Floyd though, you should be able to pull up on the bar and stretch them all at once.

Yay! Good to here Anubis is back and ready to slay! On Bonnie's tuning issues I would be surprised if a guitar stayed in tune within the first day of getting new non seriously stretched strings put on. Give it another day or another good and riff heavy practice session in and it should be good to go. Dunno how much different it will be with a floyd but it shouldn't be too much different. Sorry that I'm not much more helpful! Glad to see you've resolved Anubis's issue!

My take on stretching new strings is I try to avoid pulling hard on the tuning pegs, but other than that I just go for it until the string stays in tune after bending as far as I want. I really need to try one of those little devices they sell to help stretch new strings. I used to be skeptical about them, but I was also skeptical about those things that are a combination winder/cutter until I learned that they're awesome.
