I noticed this not too long ago, shortly after joining this site. I was reviewing tapping different arpeggios and gave myself a moment of confusion with this- “didn’t I just do this exact same thing? Why tf am I playing the exact same notes for multiple chords?” Haha good times. Music is fun.

Firsty-Substitutions are awesome isn’t it! It’s basically a similar train of thought as C and Am7 or Gmaj7 and Bm because they the notes to build them are in those chords too. With sus chords it’s a little bit more obvious than with these but sometimes the fifth or even the root for example can be implied (D7 works as a substitution for Am6 for example (and vice versa))
