So I am really bored at Work right now.
What are you all Up to? Any guitar related goals, guitars you NEED or music you look foreward to?

I am super excited for this year. We might get new stuff from A7x, Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine, Avatar, I Prevail, Billy Talent..
Also, working on a Cover at the moment. It's Going slow but I Take my time. After that I will probably Go learn some Blues.

There's a new Epiphone Prophecy Line on the way and I need that flying v. Also want to get my strat Mod Project started

My dream guitar is any Syn related guitar. However, it is a want, not a need. I have a kick-ass guitar already.

One of my goals is already achieved in the form of my covers EP on Spotify. I do plan on doing more in time.

Next in line is an instrumental EP filled with original songs. I also want to be able to do a proper distorted voice. That is for another thing entirely.

I am also trying to figure out a way in which I can make money off of music related stuff. I am thinking a book, online courses, or both. No worries, I am not giving up on the lessons I do here.

Get a new amp is for sure one thing to do this year, as I have the 2 shittiest amps on Earth for sure xD

Keep practicing guitar but try to focus more on lessons, even if is just twice a week or so.
Maybe find someone to jam with, as some days I feel really lonely and in a circle, repeating week after week what Ive been doing.

Im really waiting for the new A7X album as lately I cant listen to anything that is not A7X. Theres a new Evanescence album coming soon too, wich Amy said is darker and heavier than the ones before, Im looking forward to that one too, as im not a big fan of the last 2 albums.

Totally agree with the second Part. I also wanna try and Focus more on theory and Lessons. But it's Not likely to find somebody to Jam with. Need to get my Brother to Play more so we can Cover another Song together.

Im not sure what to get yet, I cant spend a lot of money so probabily I will go for something used or something not to expensive... I would say 5/10w and if it had connection to the computer would be really good. Im really not sure what to get, but im planning to buy maybe after Summer so Im not really worried at the time!
Its nice that your brother plays guitar too, I remember a video you posted a while ago covering a song with your brother so cool!! I have a couple of friends here that play but everyone is too busy all the time so I gave up on asking!

Goals for 2020:
- get better at guitar (duh!)
- work out harder and achieve my body goals
- spend more time outside and in the nature
- get a job until I start college in October
- just being happy and fulfilled in general

Stuff I look forward to in 2020:
- new music from a TON of bands (A7X, Trivium, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Gojira just to name a few)
- hopefully some concerts by these bands in Croatia
- getting a new guitar
- getting my first tattoo (hopefully)

No...or maybe, depends on how much I suck at guitar. Definitely gonna feature at least 50 takes though .

As for what guitar I am using, it's a Washburn, but I'll be damned if I remember the model. I bought it some 5 years ago when my guitar knowledge was dwindling so bad...it's somewhat similar in look and feel to this one: https://www.washburn.com/product/s20fr/

Sometimes I also feel like giving up on that (I started working out since the beginning of the year and then I had a bad flu for 2 weeks at the end of January), but then I get reminded how BADLY I want to be a ripped as fuck shredder on stage.

I definitely want to get a guitar with a wammy sometime this year. I’ve been having a weird obsession with listening to Syn and other guitarists do dive bombs. Goal wise, I would like to finish the afterlife solo. I can play it almost perfectly at 105 bpms and I believe it’s played at 110. I want to start spending more time going through the lessons as well. I’ve been terrible at actually doing the lessons recently.

My goals are simple. Get atleast 1 or 2 of my sets of songs out with some sort of drums with it. I can't do anything more until I get a faster PC but I did reach out to some local drummers.

Find a group to jam with. This is harder then you think. Lots of egotistical assholes and older people who just want "80s rock" and dont understand todays music essentially reminds me of the 80s lol.

I need one more guitar to tune drop c with a floating bridge. Avenger or revenger preferred lol.

I've been hemming and hawing on the next guitar thing. Probably settled on a Fender American Elite Stratocaster. I almost went for it last night with the President's Day sale, but I still need to finish paying for the Kiesel before I buy anything else, and I had to buy two cars this month, so...

Lots of work on techniques. Alternate picking up to speed. Better at sweeping. Blues stuff (hence the Strat), and definitely theory. This is the year.

Plus the obligatory drop some pounds (that damned ice cream), which I started on Monday.

Regarding my goals I have several: I want to find a definite guitar positioning for myself, where I can play comfortably in. I also want to figure out what works for me regarding my picking hand.

I would also like to expand my speed ( I know speed kills and what not...but some solos that I want to learn require speed....which I dont have) together with my fretboard knowledge (practical knowledge, like landing on tone centers).

Regarding my dream guitar......I want one with 24 frets and a whammy barr thats not a floyd rose. I change tuning far too much. I've been looking at the Ibanez AZ for lefties......which will take me a looong time to save up for. Coming from a les paul guitar, I want to play a more modern design I guess. Something that helps me reach high frets and a thin neck.

The tuning issue with Floyds is not a Floyd issue. It's any guitar with a floating bridge. The problem is not the design of the Floyd - it's a problem of physics and counterbalance and affects any and every guitar with a floating bridge, including the AZ line (which are brilliant, by the way).

Maybe I should have said...a guitar with a lockin tuning system. I mean changing the tuning on a floyd rose I heard is a nightmare and takes far too much time. I change tuning fairly often. From my understanding the AZ line comes without a floating bridge (at least the model that I am interested in).

My focus has switched from guitar to music production in the past year so I'm not really playing that much anymore but I accepted it because I know that I can be way more creative with music production rather than guitar. So my goals are to improve my production skills like song making, mixing, mastering... and I hope to make even more songs than I did last year. I'm currently finishing one up and it will hopefully be uploaded at the end of the month.

p.s. here's an interesting thing that I learned today. It's called "No more zero days". Here's a video that explains what that actually is:

I highly recommend watching. I'm sure that it will help you guys a lot.
