I got the letter D from my stepdad. The first thing that comes to might is Deep purple but sometimes I actually think for a bit and figured this is a good time to share one of my favourite singers of all time, namely, Ronnie James Dio, so I chose catch a Rainbow by Rainbow.

Gonna use this opportunity to (probably) introduce you to Beyond the Black! Those guys make great music, I think they are considered symphonic metal. The singer is from Saarland, Germany, just like me!

First thought with V was initially Villan. My uncle was a roadie, roommate, and band wrangler back in the day for the seattle based metal band Villan back in the 90's. He also went into the studio with them and watched them record their demo at the same time Soundgarden and Nirvana were spending some time in the same studio. Anyway one of my favorite tracks is definitely Runaway Train. It's a pretty good solo and a pretty nice groovy riff in my opinion anyway.
