I just watched the story behind this song and it's pretty impressive to think about the thought that goes into writing songs for a musical. You are effectively telling a story by means of a group of songs which all have to be connected, that's pretty different from writing 10 or so individual songs

Some musicals are my guilty pleasure, like Grease its just too damn good. Possible analysis on musical songs and see how theyre structured in the future?
Oof, maybe but not anytime soon. That does mean I can finally do shining or you're welcome from moana! Also mamma mia by abba

I'll add musical songs to the list of poll topics when I do them again. Probably won't do them every week again because maybe I can put a bit more effort into them to make them better

If you've not watched Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Edition (The one with Alfie Boe in it) I'd highly recommend it - it's one of my favorite Musicals of all time. The whole musical uses similar themes for each song so it's all connected. It's far from the feel good story of the year but it's so powerful & dark!
Another one to watch is Wicked (About the Wicked Witch of the West but from her perspective as the good guy) - just a bunch of amazing songs throughout, and the vocal harmonies at the start are killer
However, if they seem a bit tame for you & If you've got a sick sense of humor (like me) - you need to watch Starkid's Musicals on Youtube

Twisted is their version of Wicked based on Jafar form Aladdin - Genuinely one of the funniest things I've watched this year
