My playing is so sloppy to me why?

    My playing is so sloppy, I’ve been dealing with this for a a couple of years now, forget about rhythm because my rhythm playing is pretty clear, okay so maybe it’s the motion of my pick I don’t know, nothing sounds smooth I want to sound clean but I can’t, please this is the only thing I want to do, after I do this I feel like my solo will get a lot better, I know just posted what solo should I learn but this is really what I should be doing.
    Any advice will help. Please thanks

    Being sloppy can come from a whole range of stuff: Synchronization, way you hold the pick, angle of the pick, going faster than you’re comfortable with. I would advice to try and experiment with these things and see whether it helps

    well, it can be either a) you need to practice until you are comfortable playing the song forwards backwards and in your sleep. but i do know if youre a perfectionist like me, you probably thing its sloppy no matter what. usually your own self is the most critical of the things you do. hopefully one day you can see your talent :3

    As others have said, it may be small quirks within your playing. However, while you try out different solutions, I also advise making sure your tone is clean. If you use a ton of distortion or overdrive, every single tiny little noise is gonna be amplified and distorted so you hear all of it. Try playing with the minimal amount of overdrive/distortion as you possibly can to achieve the sound you want and see if that cleans it up. My most distorted sound I use is the built in drive on my amp maxed out with a clean boost underneath, and I usually won’t go any more distorted than that, but it sounds great for lead and heavy rhythm by playing harder, and better yet, it’s quite a clean sound. So try and clean up the effects and you may find that helps you a ton.
