Happy new year synners!

So as many of you, I guess, one of my new year resolutions is to improve my playing. Since I recently learned the modes, I figured I would record myself playing a mode each day during the first 7 days of the year and do the same 2021 to see how much a year made me grow.

Here is the first one.....I am going for safe playing.

Awesome! I love modes, especially phrygian dominant and to get a little bit more into using super locrian.

You play great too! Really melodic and no unnecessary shredding, I like that! Just one thing you can dig in a little more with your vibrato!

Also, I'm wondering what gives you a headache when using Aeolian?

Thanks. Well I dont shredd much cause I cant. I am planning to learn how to shredd ( although using it sparingly) and working on my vibrato is my mission! Im gonna learn some Kiss solos to improve my vibrato.

Thank you. I encourage you to do so!
I’ll try but I’m starting with more basic backing track improvs first. I know all the modes, but can’t really play anything because I don’t know enough licks. I never really play like that, this is a great inspiration to start.

No shame in not knowing the modes. Just apply it to another thing you want to improve. And then do the same thing in a year! I encourage you!
That idea is so cool that I have to do it too. But guess what, I didnt learn the modes yet dammit I have to learn them as soon as possible
