Newsflash For The School

Hello $ynners!
Lately (with the help of you all) we’ve come across a few more burps and hiccups on the school. I wanted to let everyone know that we really appreciate when you reach out to us because it lets us all know how to further improve your experience here on the school. The big dogs have been informed about these minor setbacks but as we are working on a resolution that has proven more difficult than first appeared, work is being done around the clock to not only fix, but improve the site. But for the time being, we will still need your help in reporting any of these burps and hiccups right here on THIS thread.
So if you notice anything that needs to be brought to our attention, let me know here.

Damn, after reading Ed’s comments I’m realizing I’m way to easy going with this stuff. I noticed all those things too but was like ‘aah well I’ll just deal with it, it’s not that big of a deal’

I bele8ve everything ed mentioned we already complained about and I’m sure they are getting worked on. Other then random glitches with video links.. I’ll remind everyone to post any words before a link or your post will be ghosted. Ala it’s there but no one sees it.
I’ll report bugs as they come.

With the internet consistantly growing in techniques codes change daily so bugs can appear out of no where. It also doesnt help when a hacker changes shit on you. Which I think is what happened here. They did a ton more then send bots to take syn on lol.
If we get comments back I think well be ok as long as we have constant moderation and with jak that’s supplied. I like the idea of having a mod or two on the forums. As we get bigger i imagine well need more. And hopefully we get some more people who know the tech world well and can push the coding efforts. That’s honestly the hardest part.

I already told you this but I’m writing it for everyone who doesn’t know. Changing your profile picture feature is bugged. It crops the image randomly and you can’t crop it the way you want to. I tried changing mine but as you can see my profile picture right now is just a random red background that was a part of the original picture I wanted to have (or at least that’s how I see it, if my name appears on the homepage then it shows my profile without a photo so I don’t know if you guys can see me with or without a it). So this is just a heads up for anyone who might want to change their profile photo. Jak told me that they are working on it so it will be fixed eventually.

Hey guys, I’ve had trouble seeing my own riffs on the community riffs page. However, I think others can see them, but I don’t. Also…I had an idea that I’d really like to share with all of you if you’re interested in reading it and this is the right forum for it.

The more I think about it the more I wonder if they did that on purpose so you didn’t have to scroll through your own videos when wanting to see others.
The only issue i really care to fix is finding videos in the archives. You need a direct link to get to the older videos. I have like many riffs and a lot disappear as I upload new ones. Like I said if I have a direct link or remember the name of the riff itll appear. But theres too many to remember. They ARE on YouTube but I’d rather have it here honestly.

Well the community riffs not seeing your own seems intended. No reason you should search your own videos, you have the profile for that. I guess they query the database to show videos except from ur own user

The “my riffs,” “my topics,” and “my replies” buttons simply refresh the page. It gets frustrating when I’d like to look at my older posts to view the criticism and help people have given me, would love this fixed.

We WILL have the new and improved site up and running later this year. My blues series is done. We’re just waiting on the web guys to rebuild the site. It’s a slooooow process. Hang in there!

In moving the sites I’d imagine there may be a chance you’ll lose videos. That’s exciting to hear it’s being rebuilt though!
Probably easier to start fresh then to try to find all the small stuff hidden away.

Just to give you an update, I can now see my profile picture like you guys see it. Egg shaped and going over the text. I’m on my phone though so I don’t know if it’s the same on pc, I’ll have to check when I get home.
